What's New On Source Blogger?

How To Remove Subscribe to: Posts (Atom) in Blogger

With so many other methods to subscribe to your blog, why hold on to Subscribe to: Posts (Atom) by your blog's footer?

[Example]

Blogger has added it so that the blog visitors can subscribe to your Atom feeds. However, many bloggers have elected to use RSS for their blog feeds instead.

In addition, it takes up quite a bit of room at the bottom of your blog's homepage and looks, well...rather hideous! Let's remove it, shall we?

As a precaution, consistent with any alterations you perform on your blog's HTML, back up your template.

 Removal Instructions
    1) Go to dashboard > template > edit HTML

2.) Click the 'Expand Widgets Templates' box

    3)  Locate this snippet of HTML code

    4) Remove This Line:

    < b:include data='feedLinks' name='feedLinksBody'/ >

That's it! You have effectively removed Subscribe to: Posts (Atom)!

Now, go back to your blog, refresh the page, and make sure it's gone. You'll probably notice you have shortened the height of your page as well.

Out of appreciation, please make a point of subscribing to Source Blogger. No else is as determined to make you a better blogger.

    @ Anonymous,

We're very flattered that you have closely followed our writing progression over the past few months.

Source Blogger is still relatively a new blog at roughly 4.5 months old. We had decided to take Source Blogger in a new direction shortly after its inception.

Blogging is about an overall growth and dvelopment in writing style. Readers are looking for a unique quality in the blogs they read and are loyal to.

Your ability to recognize that has made our day!

    Your friend,

    Source Blogger

Is it possible to remove the entire widget so that the line, or divider, that shows up at the bottom of widgets will not still appear below the space where the words "subscribe to posts (atom)" were removed?
